Some examples of five-star weapons are The Primordial Jade Wing Spear, which gives opportunities to increase your attack and damage stats, and the Skyward Harp, which delivers a powerful AoE attack and can increase critical damage.
Every weapon class has two five-star weapon options, except for polearms, which actually has three. Unfortunately, these are also tied to the game's gatcha mechanics, so you'll need that lucky pull to get ahold of one. They're ranked the highest for a reason, after all. Pretty much any five-star weapon is going to rank in the S tier. But with all these factors in mind, here's our ranking, assuming each weapon is being used to its fullest potential. Additionally, three-star weapons are actually easier to Ascend than four or five-stars so, your mileage may vary there as well. Not to mention taking into account people's individual playstyles. The tricky thing about Genshin Impact is that due to the variety of weapon choices, it's a bit hard to definitively rank which is the best in general. While the protagonist of Genshin Impact is the only character with the ability to switch between elements, they still pale in comparison to most other characters available in the game. Ultimately, no Genshin character is truly bad, but this group is easily the least impressive overall and the most difficult to build for results that will ultimately still be rather lackluster. The kind Geo maid has a high starting defense and can use her elemental skill to help heal the entire party but doesn’t deal much damage overall. The rock and roll Pyro musician can deal some decent damage and also has a shield ability but is somewhat disappointing due to a lackluster damage output overall. While he can function decently in a support role, Thoma’s overall damage output is disappointing and his elemental skill cooldown is long.
Beidou is still a solid character, but many others are far better choices. The captain of The Crux is a solid Electro damage dealer but is ultimately dragged down due to a high energy cost for her elemental burst and sometimes complex mechanics. The Pyro legal adviser deals impressive damage and has relatively short cooldowns, making her a solid recruit. While Razor can deal solid amounts of Electro damage, he can only do so at close range and overall doesn’t excel as much as other Claymore characters do. The Anemo alchemist functions great as a support character by increasing the parties’ elemental mastery and grouping large amounts of enemies close together to deal efficient damage. The Geo Catalyst character has an effective shield ability and can deal some decent damage but moves fairly slowly and isn’t great at targeting many enemies at once. The talented Geo dancer and singer is a great support character who consistently generates elemental particles, boosts normal attack damage, and has a decently low cost for her elemental skills. The Hydro Catalyst character excels at healing but has a long cooldown period and can do very little damage since her elemental abilities are entirely dedicated to healing. While a bit slow at attacking, Chongyun’s elemental abilities are pretty effective in battle and he is an overall decent secondary damage dealer or support character. The icy Polearm character deals decent damage against regular enemies and applies Cryo fairly well but is far less effective against larger bosses. Overall, he makes a solid primary damage dealer and a decent secondary one. Although Heizou wields a catalyst, he pushes it aside in combat in favor of direct hits. The Anemo detective boasts one of the most unique skill sets in all of Genshin Impact.
